The LCD display shows rotational speed, rotation direction and extraction power. A control dial adjusts handpiece speed, while pressing it starts or puts the device into sleep mode. Three programmable modes save speed, direction and extraction level for recall by button. The display also shows the selected programme symbol and an icon when the filter bag requires replacement.

The handpiece has a brushless motor and operates from 4,000 to 40,000 rpm. Its Push-in & Pull-out system allows bits to be inserted into the sleeve without twisting or locking. An on/off switch at the rear of the handle temporarily stops rotation and extraction. The handpiece can be detached for cleaning, and the base includes a dedicated handpiece rest and non-slip feet. Extraction can be adjusted across five levels or switched off.

The set includes the drill base, extraction handpiece, stand, bits, five filter bags, a handpiece cleaning tool and a bit removal tool. The SDE-BHM-40P handpiece accepts 2.32 mm bits.
