The Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the contact details below to request that it be deleted. With your consent, Google and we use cookies and mobile advertising identifiers for ad personalisation: showing personalised and non-personalised ads (including remarketing) and measuring conversions. In doing so, Google processes data about your website visit (such as page views, device type, country-level location and, after a purchase, hashed contact details for conversion measurement) on the basis of your cookie consent. IP addresses are anonymised. You can read how Google uses your data when you visit our website at business.safety.google/privacy.
Privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Digital assistant (chatbot)

Our online shop uses a digital assistant (chatbot) to help you with questions about products, orders and service. When you use the chat function, your messages are primarily processed by Google (EU/US) via the Gemini API using the open-source language model Gemma 4. If it is unavailable, the system automatically switches to OpenAI (United States) as a backup. Both parties process data as sub-processors under a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) in accordance with the GDPR. Google processes data within the EU and under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; OpenAI processes data under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Neither party uses your messages to train its AI models. Anonymised conversations may be used to improve our services. Conversations are automatically deleted after 24 months. You can request deletion of your chat data at any time via info@salonplus.nl.

Telephone customer service via an AI assistant

When you call our customer service, you will be answered by a digital (AI) voice assistant rather than a member of staff. We tell you this at the start of the call and let you know that the call may be recorded. You can ask to be transferred to a member of staff at any time.

For this service we process the phone number you are calling from, the content of the call and any details you give yourself (such as your order number, postcode/Eircode or email address) in order to answer your question. The legal basis for this is the performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in a good, accessible customer service.

To make this assistant work, we engage specialist service providers who process data on our behalf, including OpenAI (voice model), Google (hosting and speech technology) and Telnyx (telephony). These parties may process data outside the European Economic Area; in that case, appropriate safeguards apply, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We have concluded data processing agreements with these service providers, and they do not use your calls to train their models.

We do not keep audio recordings of the call. We keep a text version (transcript) of the call for a maximum of 90 days for quality monitoring and for handling questions or disputes, after which it is automatically deleted. In addition, we keep an anonymised version of the transcript — from which personal data such as names, phone numbers, email addresses, order numbers and postcodes have been removed — without a fixed retention period, in order to analyse and improve our services. You have the right to access, correct and delete your data and the right to object to this processing. To do so, please contact us via info@salonplus.nl.
